Industrial AI company MakinaRocks said on the 6th that it installed an "equipment operation AI staff officer" on the Pohang, a frigate under the Navy's 1st Fleet Command, and began pilot operation.
This AI staff officer is an AI agent framework built on the company's AI operating system Runway, trained on the naval gun technical manual. It helps naval personnel operate equipment.
The pilot is being carried out as part of the Defense Innovation Company 100 Dedicated Technology Development Support Program run by the Korea Research Institute for Defense Technology Planning and Advancement (KRIT).
