KT and LG Uplus have launched plugins that let users look up their plans and benefits inside OpenAI's ChatGPT. When a user tells ChatGPT conditions such as age or data usage, it compares plans that fit.
KT launched a plugin on the 6th that connects official product information to ChatGPT. Users add the KT plugin from the plugin menu in the ChatGPT chat sidebar. LG Uplus was first, introducing on Sept. 16 a plugin called U+ with product and benefit information for its online-only plan Nugget.
LG Uplus first provides plan and benefit search, and plans to expand features in stages, such as sign-up type and SIM selection. It means telecom companies have begun using generative AI services as a new window for product guidance.
