KT Cloud will take part in a 50MW-class AI data center project in the Cheongna area of Incheon. On the 7th, the company said it will join as a design, construction and operation (DBO) partner. The data center will have two basement floors and 11 above-ground floors, with a power receiving capacity of 50MW.
The schedule calls for construction to begin in the fourth quarter of this year and for completion in the first quarter of 2030. TechM reported the same schedule, and TheElec and IT Chosun also gave 2030 as the completion date in their headlines.
KT Cloud plans to broaden its supply base of AI data centers in the Seoul metropolitan area through this participation. IT Chosun reported that the company aims to secure the capacity to supply more than 1GW of AI data centers by 2031, and Chosun Biz explained that the plan is to secure a new base in the western part of the metropolitan area to meet growing demand for AI and cloud infrastructure.
