Key points
- Google Cloud unveils an integrated AI agent for enterprises
- Handles email, documents, scheduling and coding in one place
- Multi-model structure using Gemini, Claude and others
Google Cloud officially announced Gemini Agent, an AI agent that performs enterprise work across the board, on Oct. 8 (local time). Outlets reported that it goes beyond answering questions to support work processing, content creation and code writing, handling email and document writing, scheduling and coding in a single interface.
Techworld News reported that the agent is multi-model, choosing the suitable model between Gemini and Anthropic's Claude depending on the nature of the task. Digital Today, citing TechCrunch, said Google decided to apply it to the enterprise market first.
Digital Daily assessed the announcement as a counter move amid a trend in which OpenAI earlier unveiled Dot, an always-on agent, and Meta released Muse for personal use. TheElec introduced the agent by comparing it with Gemini Spark, announced at the Google I/O conference in May.
