The Ministry of Trade and Industry is moving in earnest to mutually recognize with Switzerland its manufacturing AI transformation (M.AX) certification so that it can be used overseas. According to Hellot, the ministry held the 4th Industrial AI International Certification Forum at COEX in Seoul on Oct. 20 together with the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL) and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT), among others.
Electimes reported that, as domestic testing and certification bodies reached mutual recognition with a Swiss certification body, industrial AI test and evaluation results obtained in Korea can now also be used to obtain overseas certification. Hyundai AutoEver and WIZCORE received joint overseas certificates through this.
EBN reported that the plan is to use domestic test results for overseas certification as well, reducing companies' burden of duplicate testing and certification costs. Electimes reported that the burden on Korean industrial AI companies of entering global markets is expected to ease.
