Design platform Canva unveiled Canva Craft, an image generation model it developed in-house, on the 22nd (local time). Digital Today introduced it as Canva's first in-house image generation model.
AI Times reported that the model is designed to understand design composition and text placement rather than merely making photos look plausible, and that generated images can be used right away as editable designs. Its headline said the model ranked fourth in the Design Arena.
Digital Today, citing TechCrunch, reported that Canva's own research team developed the model to compete with comparable models from Google, OpenAI, ByteDance and Meta.
