Physical AI company MakinaRocks will take part in an industry ministry R&D project to make die design and the production process for automotive hot forging autonomous with AI. The total project cost is 11.8 billion won. iNews24 reported that MakinaRocks announced this on Oct. 14.
According to VentureSquare, the project, led by Saeil Forging, aims to develop automatic correction of die design and an autonomous production system, and MakinaRocks is participating as a joint R&D institution. TheElec reported that the project period runs through December 2029.
Outlets differed on the ministry's name. Steel & Metal News (철강금속신문) and Robot Newspaper called it the Ministry of Industry (산업통상부), while VentureSquare wrote it as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's 'Machinery and Equipment Industry Technology Development Program.'
