SpaceX announced its third-quarter results on Oct. 20 (local time) and returned to profit on the back of growth in its AI business. Chosun Biz, Blotter (블로터) and EBN reported that third-quarter revenue rose 161% from the same period last year.
The amount was written differently by outlet. Blotter reported 14.58 billion dollars and EBN reported 14.575 billion dollars, while Chosun Biz gave 19 trillion won in its headline.
Reports covered the weight of the AI business from different angles. Chosun Biz reported that the superintelligence (SI) division, which includes AI, overtook the communications division including Starlink to become the largest source of revenue. Newsis reported, citing CNBC and others, that AI-related revenue grew more than ninefold. IT Chosun reported that the rapidly growing AI computing resource rental business produced results above market expectations, and Blotter added that the Starlink satellite internet service also continued to grow.
