KT and Samsung Electronics Verify Autonomous AI Wireless Network Operation at a Ballpark
Key points
- KT and Samsung Electronics verify the technology at a Suwon ballpark
- Autonomous wireless network operation based on AI Cell Twin
- Traffic imbalance between base stations improved by up to 34%
KT said on the 2nd that it worked with Samsung Electronics at KT Wiz Park in Suwon to verify an autonomous wireless network operation technology based on its digital twin platform "AI Cell Twin." EBN, Digital Today, Digital Daily and iNews24 reported it.
AI Cell Twin is KT's network digital twin platform that recreates a real wireless network in a virtual space. According to Digital Daily, in this verification, traffic that had been concentrated on a particular base station was spread to surrounding base stations, improving the imbalance between base stations by up to 34%. Digital Today also said in its headline that the traffic imbalance improved by 34%, and iNews24 put "fall baseball" in its headline, pointing to the fall baseball setting.
Separately, Digital Today, citing foreign media, reported that on the 27th (local time) T-Mobile, together with Nokia and Nvidia, succeeded in the world's first AI radio access network (AI-RAN) call on a commercial 5G base station.
