90% of Food and Beverage Manufacturers Plan AI Adoption, but Only 45% Use Their Data Effectively
Key points
- About 90% of food and beverage manufacturers use or plan to adopt AI
- About 45% of collected data is used effectively
- More than 60% of processes expected to use AI by 2030
Rockwell Automation looked at the state of AI adoption in food and beverage manufacturing based on its "11th Annual State of Smart Manufacturing Report." AI Newspaper (인공지능신문), Hellot, Techworld News, Datanet and Industry News reported the findings on the 2nd.
There are two key figures. About 90% of food and beverage manufacturers already use or plan to adopt AI and machine learning. By contrast, only about 45% of the data they collect is used effectively. Techworld News put it as nine out of 10 manufacturers having adopted or planning to adopt AI, and wrote that data use falls short of half.
Hellot and Techworld News reported that the share of manufacturing processes using AI is expected to exceed 60% by 2030, and Hellot also named retraining the workforce as a challenge. Datanet reported that Rockwell stressed that data use, system integration and stronger workforce capabilities are needed to turn AI adoption into real business results. AI Newspaper described the findings as covering food and beverage manufacturing worldwide and pointed out that a gap is opening between AI investment and actual business results. Industry News pointed out that to turn AI investment into real results, companies must move beyond individual pilot projects.
Glossary Machine learning is an AI technique in which a computer is trained to find rules in data on its own.
